The Ondo State FRSC Sector Commander, Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed the incident, which occurred at approximately 10:14 am on Saturday.

Dr. Ibitoye stated:

The fatal crash involved two buses. A bus traveling from the Ikare axis suffered a tire burst, leading to a head-on collision with another bus carrying fabric from the Owo axis. Both vehicles caught fire immediately after the impact.


Rescue efforts by the FRSC, police, and fire services transported the injured survivor to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, while the deceased were taken to the hospital morgue.

Dr. Ibitoye urged drivers to maintain their vehicles and practice patience on the roads, emphasizing that passengers should speak out against reckless driving to promote road safety for all.
