🇸🇪🇺🇦 Stockholm Pledges €63 Million Military Aid for Ukraine’s Defense Industry and Multinational Initiatives
💶 Sweden has announced a €63 million military aid package for Ukraine, with funds aimed at bolstering Ukraine's defense industry and supporting multinational defense initiatives. This package includes €20 million to back Ukrainian defense industry procurements, drawing on a Danish model that has already helped Ukraine produce artillery systems locally. This approach ensures efficient use of funds and clear tracking of delivered equipment.
🛡 The remaining €43 million will contribute to established coalitions within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG). These coalitions support key Ukrainian defense areas, including F-16 pilot training, maritime security, demining efforts, and command and control infrastructure.
🌍 Additionally, Sweden's contribution to NATO’s Ukraine fund (NATO CAP) will facilitate further procurement of military equipment. By investing in Ukraine’s defense sector, Sweden aims to strengthen Europe’s defense industrial base—a move that bolsters European security while directly supporting Ukraine's ability to counter ongoing threats.
