Russia, Iran and China will hold a joint naval drill in the Gulf of Oman this year, according to China's Ministry of Defense.

The Security Belt-2025 drill will include training on maritime target strikes, VBSS (visit, board, search, and seizure), damage control, and joint search and rescue operations.

This is the fifth joint drill for Russian, Iranian and Chinese navies since 2019.

The countries will hold training exercises near Iran's Chabahar Port to "help safeguard security in the strategically important energy shipping region."

The axis of evil is as united as ever.

US blocked Canada's proposal to create a G7 taskforce to monitor the enforcement of sanctions on Russia's shadow fleet - Bloomberg

US wants to water down the language around Russia in a joint G7 statement as well. They are pushing to exclude the word "sanctions", and to replace the words “Russia's ability to maintain its war” with “earn revenue.”

Instead, Washington is pushing for stronger language around China in the statement.

Ukrainian journalist Viktoriia Roshchina was brutally tortured in Russian captivity, according to an investigation by Slidstvo. info.

Viktoriia was captured in the summer of 2023. She was kept in the detention centers in Melitopol, Enerhodar, and pre-trial detention center №2 in Russian Taganrog. There, Viktoriia's weight dropped to 30 kilograms. She was brutally tortured, and had knife wounds on her body.

"I saw several knife wounds on her body - definitely on her arm and leg. Fresh knife scar between wrist and elbow in the soft tissue. A scar of roughly three centimeters. They used electric shocks, maybe beat her," said Viktoriia's cellmate.

When the Russian ombudsman checked the colony, the journalist was hidden and then transferred to a closed room. Viktoriia was last seen on September 8, 2024.

On October 10, Viktoriia's father received a letter from the Russian defense ministry claiming that Viktoriia had died on September 19. There were no supporting documents or details regarding the circumstances of her death.

Deepest condolences to Viktoriia's family.

Thank you so much for these words.
I keep thinking all the time about the hardships our Ukrainian women have to face daily.

No words can describe this. We do everything in our power to protect them. So they can live peaceful lives.

Danke Herr Merz.

Russia is the aggressor and war criminal.
Ukraine is the victim of the aggression.
Russia started the war.
Ukraine is defending.

I think we need the magic of multiple repetitions of the facts.

European countries are ramping up their drone investments.

Thankful to our Allies for standing with us!

▪️The UK will supply $38 million worth of drones produced by US company Anduril in the coming months. The drones will be used to carry out operations in the Black Sea.

▪️Latvia has launched a EUR 10 million initiative to develop automated drone interception technology, electronic warfare and guided anti-drone missiles.

▪️The Netherlands will provide EUR 700 million for drones for Ukraine. This funding will likely go towards the Ukrainian drone production industry.

Together, we are stronger! 🇺🇦🇬🇧🇱🇻🇳🇱

A Russian woman lost her son in the war in Ukraine, so she decided to kidnap a Ukrainian child as a replacement.

International criminal Putin listens to the story with a smile on his face.

Russia plans to track the movement of each citizen through AI-assisted surveillance, according to Russian media.

The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the RF announced they will invest 5.8 billion rubles (about USD 64 million) in the development of the National Data Management System over the next 2 years. The system will include the ability to analyze the location data of every mobile phone user in Russia using AI.

All mobile operators in Russia will be obliged to provide geotracking data of their users. While officially the data will be “depersonalized,” it leaves a lot of room for interpretation, given Russia’s history of mass surveillance and stifling any dissent in the country.

Another authoritarian state, China, has been tracking mobile users’ locations since at least 2011, though in recent years more advanced technologies – including facial recognition – have supplanted this surveillance method.

Though Russia is behind China in the level of sophistication of its surveillance technology, this is still a cause for great concern. Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars who remain on the territories occupied by Russia will be among the main targets of mounting surveillance and repression.

The US plans to pull out of future NATO training excercises in Europe - Expressen

In an effort to reduce military spending in Europe, the US will minimize its participation in NATO training excercises on the continent.

This won't concern the excercises already planned for 2025, but in the following years, there will be no or only limited numbers of American troops in European training.

The US wants to increase its presence in the Indo-Pacific region instead.

Several countries on the Eastern Flank of NATO are considering leaving the Ottawa Treaty, which bans anti-personnel mines.

Yesterday, Finland and Poland both announced their intentions to leave the treaty in the coming weeks.

Lithuania has also considered such a move in recent months, according to media reports, although it has not made a specific commitment to do so yet.

The Ottawa Treaty was adopted in 1997, and it calls for ban on production of anti-personnel landmines, as well as the elimination of existing stockpiles. Notably, several countries never ratified this treaty, including Russia, the US, and China.

Animals also suffer greatly from Russia's cruel war against Ukraine. Most of the animals that are brought from the frontline areas have shrapnel wounds.

Volunteers have sheltered more than 200 evacuated dogs and cats from Donetsk region in the Dnipro shelter, its founder, Anna Dmytriieva, says. She adds that the animals need medical treatment, food, and most of all, homes, so volunteers are ready to travel to the other side of the country to help them.

"You challenged Europe to step up. You challenged us to step up on Ukraine, on defense spending, on European security and I say to you that we have, we are and we will further," - UK Defense Secretary John Healey during a meeting with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Secretary Healey promised to increase defense spending, as demanded by Donald Trump from NATO allies. In response, Secretary Hegseth said that Washington sees "encouraging signals" in the initiatives of London and Paris regarding future security guarantees for Ukraine and for strengthening Europe in general.

At the same time, the U.S. Secretary emphasized that the resumption of intelligence sharing with Ukraine depends only on Donald Trump.

"And we're very encouraged by the signs we're seeing. Ultimately, he [Trump] will make the determination," Hegseth added.
