Arsenal ready €100m Osimhen bid.

Victor Osimhen will most likely end up at Arsenal, with Italian journalist Ciro Venerato reporting that the Premier League giants are ready to make a €100 million bid for the Nigerian striker, which is €30 million short of the release clause set by Napoli in his recent contract.

Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has made it clear that they will not entertain bids below his release clause, which would surpass Arsenal’s current transfer record of £105 million paid for Declan Rice last summer. However, Arsenal hope to strike a deal for a more modest sum, around €100m or £85m. “[Arsenal] will now try with the Nigerian [who dreams of the Premier League], but not by paying the onerous amount of the clause, but a lower sum,” continued Venerato. “Napoli will have to evaluate the pros and cons.”

NFF should disqualify Osimhen for outburst Finidi – Peterside

Former Nigerian goalkeeper Ida Peterside has said Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen should be dropped from the national team unless he apologizes to coach Finidi Goge for his outburst on social media on Friday.

«I think action needs to be taken or he will be banned from playing for the national team. If we allow this to continue, it does not bode well for Nigeria. People who have served and given everything to our great country. So sanity needs to be brought into our football He (Osimhen) needs to come out and apologize for what he said to Finidi,” Peterside wrote on social media.

Finidi George is a legend, you don’t just widen your mouth and say nasty things. If you have problems with a man, pick up the phone and call him. This is what responsible people do. Osimhen has just been a little irresponsible and it's unexpected. I think the NFF should call Osimhen and ask him to apologize. He should apologize for saying something.

Our team is sacred. Back in the days when we wore the T-shirt, we respected it and the people who came before us. He is not the first, and he will not be the last. He must openly apologize to the former players, the NFF, Finidi and Nigerians».

NFF stabbed me in the back – Finidi

Finidi
George has revealed the reason behind his decision to quit his role as head coach of the Super Eagles.

Finidi submitted his resignation letter to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, on Saturday. The 53-year-old took the decision after the NFF announced it will hire a foreign technical adviser to tinker the team.

In a video posted on social media hours later, a former media officer of the Eagles, Colin Udoh, confirmed he had spoken to Finidi after his decision.

“The NFF board had met on Wednesday and made that decision. But it was when Findi landed in Port Harcourt after that meeting that someone called him and informed him. He (Finidi) had to park his car and read the link to see that it actually was true.

“So he waited for two days to see if anyone would contact him but nobody spoke to him. So he (Finidi) felt they didn’t want him anymore and so he decided to turn in his resignation.”
