🗣Kwara Group Criticizes N70,000 Minimum Wage
The Kwara Advocacy Network has criticized the state’s recent approval of a ₦70,000 minimum wage, arguing it does little to address income inequality. The group pointed out the small wage gap between lower and higher-level workers, urging Governor Abdulrazaq to review the salaries of senior staff on levels 15, 16, and 17.
They noted that workers in Kwara earn significantly less than their counterparts in neighboring states, and the new wage does not offset rising living costs and inflation. The group called for fairer wage adjustments to benefit all workers.
