🗣 Strike Looms in Cross River Over Minimum Wage Dispute
Organised Labour in Cross River State has warned of a strike starting Wednesday if the state government fails to implement the new national minimum wage of N70,000.
The warning follows a walkout during a meeting with the Joint Public Service Negotiating and Implementation Committee, which was convened to discuss the wage. Labour leaders expressed frustration, stating that the government showed no commitment to the wage increase, despite promises from the governor.
The Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have given the government until Tuesday to address the issue, or face industrial action.
