🇵🇱🇺🇦 Ukrainian Legion Set for Training in Poland by Late 2024
🤝 Ukraine and Poland have established a strategic partnership to train the first unit of the Ukrainian Legion by the end of 2024. This initiative, stemming from a bilateral security agreement, envisions Polish forces training Ukrainian volunteers, with Poland providing training facilities and equipment, while Ukraine manages recruitment and supplies medical aid and uniforms.
📄 A Ukrainian consulate center in Lublin has already received over 500 applications from Ukrainians across 30 countries, including Canada, the U.K., and the U.S. Those accepted will train under NATO instructors and may proceed to specialized military training afterward.
💡 This program bolsters Ukraine’s force capabilities by leveraging NATO-standard training and Poland’s military infrastructure, which offers advanced combat preparation for volunteers. By hosting and supporting the Ukrainian Legion, Poland provides a crucial avenue for enhancing Kyiv’s capacity to counter Russian aggression, positioning itself as a key enabler for Ukraine’s evolving defense needs amid the ongoing war.
