Russian propagandists say that Putin wasn't joking at all about a high-tech duel with the West, suggesting that it's not necessarily to take place in Kyiv, as there are options like New York, London, and Paris.

Warmonger Simonyan muses that "in a perfect world, judgment comes first, then negotiations." War criminal Solovyev proceeds to add that "Oreshnik comes first."

Donald Trump's team has told European officials that the incoming US president will demand NATO member states increase defence spending to 5% of GDP, but plans to continue supplying military aid to Ukraine, the Financial Times reports.

Senior British security officials stated that while Trump still believes Ukraine should never be given membership of NATO, and wants an immediate end to the conflict, the president-elect believed that supplying weapons to Kyiv after a ceasefire would ensure a "peace through strength" outcome.

Meanwhile, Elvira Nabiullina, the head of the Russian Central Bank, wants her holiday gift to be balanced economic growth and a slowdown in price increases for the New Year in Russia.

Russian authorities are preparing their population for more poverty.

In recent weeks, I have posted a lot about Russian economy. There are clear signs that excessive military spending, lack of human resources and sanctions are mounting up towards a crisis and possible collapse.

❗️It might look like that all there is left is to sit and wait for this collapse to happen - that could not be farther from the truth.

Russia is not isolated - it has the support of China, India and other countries that support its economy.
Russian population is used to being poor and is ready to live in even greater poverty. They are ready to sacrifice their lives and the lives of their children.

❗️This is a critical stage of the war, and the efforts to strengthen Ukrainian positions must intensify, and the pressure on Russia must increase significantly.

Russian economy is indeed not very healthy at the moment. Putin's regime throws billions into the war, there is a large labor shortage and the economy is overheated. However, Russia does receive large revenues from selling oil and gas, and it has "safety cushions" - reserves it can lean on.

❗️Time plays into Russia's hands and against Ukraine.

In short, the costs of the war are piling up for Russia but they are not doing that fast enough to help Ukraine win the war and ensure sustainable and lasting peace.

And yet, Russian economy remains the greatest Russian vulnerability. The West still has a lot of room to inflict significant damage here. That is one of the best ways to strengthen Ukrainian positions in the war and help end it sooner (apart from weapon deliveries).

An important focus point is Russian oil and Russian shadow fleet.

Here is a very good overview of what the United States and the EU can do in the nearest future to make Russia much more vulnerable and the costs of war unbearable:

Reportedly, these are Syrians throwing stones at the Russian contingent fleeing the country.

"The U.S. is now conducting an information campaign about Russia's loss in Syria, but we haven't even fought there," Putin said yesterday.

A Voice of America investigation has found that some African countries are deliberately establishing ties with Russian organization that produces Shahed drones behind the recruitment program.

▪️ Recruitment under false pretenses

The website of the Russian program Alabuga Start portrays a bright future for African women in Tatarstan, Russia. Although the website does not state that it is addressed specifically to women, they are featured in all the commercials.

According to the Russian independent media outlet Protokol, the program specifically targets young women, as its organizers believe that young men from Africa "can be too aggressive and dangerous."

"It’s been a very deceptive program in the sense that the applicants didn’t know they’d be working in essentially a U.S.- [and] European-sanctioned company making drones that are being used to devastating effect against Ukrainian civil targets, energy targets, electrical plants," David Albright, founder of the Institute for Science and International Security and author of a report exposing the program that exploits young women, says.

Albright emphasizes that the plant produces Iranian Shahed-136 drones. In the first half of 2023, about 100 students from Alabuga Polytech traveled to Tehran for two months of drone manufacturing training, according to an investigation by The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2023/08/17/russia-iran-drone-shahed-alabuga/).

▪️ Cooperation with African governments

Albright claims that Alabuga representatives recently visited Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Madagascar, signing memoranda of understanding with local organizations. These ties, he believes, signal a potential expansion of recruitment efforts.

The Voice of America has found that some African governments are willing partners of Alabuga. For example, the Nigerian Ministry of Education has an announcement on its website about the Alabuga Start program. Similar announcements are posted on the government websites of Uganda, Mali, and Burkina Faso, as well as in Asian Bangladesh.

▪️ And it all started with Russian students

Alabuga's management, according to a number of investigations, even had to lobby for changes to labor laws. This allowed them to hire children under the age of 18 to work with toxic chemicals. Soon, parents began to complain about poor working conditions: children worked 12-hour days at the plant, and their movements were strictly controlled. Then in 2022, they started recruiting foreigners.

Russian propagandists:

"When all this [the war] is over, and certainly with our victory, as God is with us, the deep state will be preparing to make it look like we have lost, no matter the outcome. They made up what our goals were. Our president has never declared such goals. And while paying in rubles in Washington, we'll be saying, 'And yet, we lost. Too bad we lost.' "

It is reported that the beaches of Anapa may become unsuitable for human habitation for years. Also, the Kerch Strait water area may be polluted due to the change of wind.

Is Putin ready to stop the war in Ukraine? He obviously enjoys the war and has no intention to stop it himself.

How do we negotiate with a mad dictator? Moreover, the madness is collective. This is a huge nuclear country that has gone completely crazy. And what is more - it is supported by allies. Russia leans on them and already considers itself a winner and above the law.

The only conclusion: the leverage must be found ASAP. Mad Russia and mad Putin are a great danger for the whole world. The axis of evil is getting stronger every day.

It might seem that the only solution is to sacrifice Ukraine to appease the madman and save the world. But we know from history that such solutions always end badly. The madman's appetites will just continue growing, and he will attack again in due course and on a larger scale.

Wars aren't won by half-measures. Putin fully realizes and accepts this. What about the West?

Friends, what are your thoughts about options available today? What steps need to be taken?
What are your forecasts?
