Azerbaijani government sources have exclusively confirmed to Euronew that a russian surface-to-air missile was the cause of the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines flight in Aktau, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday.
The missile was fired at Flight 8432 during a drone attack over Grozny, and shrapnel struck passengers and crew before exploding near the plane mid-flight, government sources said.
The damaged plane was rejected from landing at russian airports despite requests from the pilots for an emergency landing, and was ordered to fly across the Caspian sea to Aktau in Kazakhstan. The plane's GPS systems were reportedly jammed throughout its flight path over the sea.
There were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board, of whom 29 survived. The russian authorities, as usual, lie and blame fog and birds for the crash
