Russia has announced new conditions for ending the war against Ukraine. In addition to previously stated demands such as Ukraine adopting a non-nuclear and non-aligned status and so-called "denazification," the aggressor state is now also insisting that Ukraine lift the ban on everything Russian. Additionally, Russia demands that Kyiv recognize Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions as Russian territories within their administrative borders.

The Kremlin tasked Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev with announcing these requirements, which he voiced during an interview with Iranian state television.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced plans to intensify strikes against military and defense industry facilities in Ukraine, including related infrastructure.

According to representatives of the ministry, targets for increased attacks include sites in Kyiv as well as other Ukrainian regions. Russia has issued explicit warnings about its intentions to escalate actions against these locations.

Kremlin Dictator Putin Banking on War of Attrition Against Ukraine, Says Israeli Military Analyst

Russian president Vladimir Putin is using a strategy of relentless attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and protracted warfare, hoping that Ukraine’s resources will be depleted faster than Russia’s.

Israeli military analyst David Sharp believes that only deterrence tactics can stop the aggressor. According to him, Ukraine needs to possess strike capabilities that would make the threat of their use against targets in Russia serve as a restraining factor.

Sharp emphasizes that a large quantity of ballistic missiles would significantly elevate Ukraine’s military potential.

The pressure, threats, intimidation, and hybrid attacks by the Kremlin against Western nations all serve one purpose—to deprive Ukraine of allied support.

However, a large-scale war with NATO would be disastrous for Russia, as the Alliance's conventional military capabilities are at least twice as powerful as those of Putin’s armed forces. Yet, any conflict between Russia and NATO carries the risk of uncontrolled escalation.

Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has threatened the United States with a "full-scale space war" following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's call to impose sanctions on Russian and Chinese companies linked to the 'Rassvet' project.

According to Medvedev, if Russia's satellite system is blocked, American Starlink satellites could allegedly become retaliatory targets.

His statement was made against the backdrop of Zelensky's appeal to former U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to introduce sanctions against those involved in the development of 'Rassvet'.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is aware that the decision to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 was a mistake, but he is not willing to admit it.

At the same time, the head of the Kremlin believes he is prevailing in a war of attrition and can continue the conflict without making concessions.

This assessment was provided by former Russian prime minister Mikhail Kasyanov in an interview with AFP. The publication followed Kasyanov's speech at a conference in Paris, organized by the Russie-Libertes association for Russians in exile who oppose Putin.

The United States is considering relocating some of its military personnel from Europe to the Western Hemisphere amid an expansion of its campaign against drug cartels. There is also the possibility of returning some troops to the United States to a new large military base planned by Washington.

Currently, the U.S. is increasing its military presence in Central and South America, working in partnership with Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Panama.

This information was shared by U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth in an interview with The Hill.

Despite numerous warnings and intelligence reports, Russia is unlikely to launch a direct attack on a NATO member state in the near future. However, Moscow may attempt to carry out "certain actions" in Moldova.

At the same time, even without a direct military invasion, Russia is already waging a "hybrid war" in Europe.

This assessment was shared by military historian and aviation analyst Tom Cooper.

Ukraine's Defense Forces Strike Key Russian Military Sites

On October 3 and during the night of October 4, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces targeted and struck several significant military positions held by Russian occupiers.

In the area near Kuroshany, Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian Buk-M3 air defense missile complex was destroyed.

Near Donetsk in Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces launched attacks on sites where enemy strike UAVs were stored, prepared, and launched.

The storage, preparation, and launch points for Russian attack drones remain high-priority targets. Systematic strikes on these facilities aim to reduce Russia’s capacity to use strike UAVs against Ukraine’s civilian population.

Additionally, near the town of Klimovo in Russia’s Bryansk region, Ukrainian forces hit an enemy electronic warfare station.

In the areas of Hirnyk, Yasynuvata, and Donetsk in Donetsk region, Ukrainian strikes targeted telecommunications hubs used by Russian forces.

Repair units of the occupying army were also struck in the communities of Vesela Tarasivka and Lysychansk in Luhansk region.

As a result of an enemy strike, a heating pipeline has also been damaged, according to Klitschko.

Because of this incident, the Desnianskyi district will experience a temporary interruption of hot water supply. Repair crews are already working to restore hot water services in the affected area.
